belmont hill: Defining Athletic Excellence
More than an athletics video
Over the years, we've had the opportunity to partner with Belmont Hill on a number of projects, so when the school asked us to create a video about its athletics program, we knew the story needed to go well beyond highlights and game footage.
One of the things that makes Belmont Hill unique is its teacher/coach model. Many of the same faculty members who challenge students in the classroom are also coaching them on the field, creating relationships that extend throughout the school day. As we spoke with 16 coaches over the course of three athletic seasons, that message came through again and again. Athletics are certainly about competition, particularly at a school like Belmont Hill, but they're equally about mentorship, leadership, resilience, and developing young men of character.
Capturing this athletics overview story over multiple seasons gave us the opportunity to experience the rhythm of campus life and showcase a wide range of teams, coaches, and student-athletes. More importantly, it allowed us to tell a story that feels authentic to Belmont Hill's culture rather than simply documenting its athletic success.
We're honored that the video recently received an Award of Excellence at the 32nd Annual Communicator Awards. More rewarding, though, is knowing it reflects the values that have long made Belmont Hill athletics such an important part of the school's educational experience.
One of the benefits of filming across three seasons is the depth of content it creates. From the same library of interviews and b-roll, our team produced 16 sport-specific videos, each featuring one of Belmont Hill's coaches and showcasing the unique culture of an individual program.
